Read Nahum 2.10-3.7. In 2.11-13: The lion is frequently used in the Bible as an image for a king and a royal family (Ezek 19.2-7), in this case for the king of Nineveh filling his caves with plundered prey. In 3.1: The City of bloodshed is Nineveh. In verses 4-7: Nahum now takes up the image of a proustite to describe Nineveh.
