Read Micah 7.8-20. In 7.8-20: Israel is pardoned and restored. Like the speeches in chs. 4-5, this speech addresses the plight of the exiles after the fall of Jerusalem in 587 BCE. In verse 11: The building of your walls anticipates the reconstruction of Jerusalem. In verse 12: The surrounding nations will recognize Jerusalem's new stature (4.1-5). In verse 14: Bashan and Gilead, east of the Jordan, were prime pasture land.
