Read Isaiah 64.1-12. In 64.1-12: The silence of God. In verses 1-7: The present situation appeared as a contradiction to God's power (v.4). The reason for this lay with the sins of the present generation, which now came in penitent lamentation to confess the rebelliousness to God (vv. 6-7). In verses 8-12: Even in its failures, Israel remained God's people and confess its wrong doing and return to God.
