Read 1 John 1.1-4. In 1.1-4: Prologue. Themes borrowed from Jn 1.1-18 emphasize the humanity of Jesus. In verse 1: Word of life: both message and person.(Jn 1.1, 14). In verse 2; life was revealed in the Word (see Jn 1.4); the word dwells in and is the source of eternal life; see 2.25; 3.14-15; 5.11-13, 20; Jn 3.15. In verse 3: In verse 3: Fellowship, among believers, with the Father and the Son (see 1.6, 7; Jn 1.14-18; 3.16).
