Read Lamentations4.11-16. In 4.11-16: God's anger has debased Zion. In verse 12: The poet assumes that other nations along with Israel (Ps 48) believed in the invincibity of Jerusalem. In verse 13; Prophets and priests, as the primary leaders of the people, are blamed for the bloodshed of war. In verses 14-15: Defiled with blood and unclean refer to the purity laws of Leviticus.
